PHRYGIA. Sebaste. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Assarion (Bronze, 20 mm, 4.33 g, 6 h), 2nd to early 3rd century AD. Draped bust of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit; before, thyrsos. Rev. CЄBACTHNΩN - CINΔPO/C The river-god Sindros reclining left, holding reed in his right hand and leaning left on urn from which water flows. BMC 5. SNG Copenhagen 672. SNG von Aulock -. Rare. A lovely coin of fine style. Slightly rough and with some minor flatness on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
